Everyone Loves Spring….. Maybe?

Spring is coming! Yay!!! But, for some people, this time of the year is horrible. The people I speak of are the allergy- sufferers. Yes, allergy season is almost upon us, so now is the best time to be proactive.

Time for Spring Cleaning!

When you think about it, when was the last time you had your carpet and upholstery shampooed or even basically cleaned for that matter. I know one thing, there’s a lot of foot traffic that marches in-and-out of the front & back door.  And I’m pretty sure, people don’t fly in with wings. According to the EPA, people can be found inside their homes or offices at least 90 % of the time. Which makes it seriously important to remove the harmful pollutants regularly. That being said, there is approximately forty pounds of dust and debris being created on a yearly basis in an average six- room home. Wow that’s a lot of dust!! With a lot of allergy sufferers today, that’s the primary reason people are greatly suffering unnecessarily which is due to thesick1 poor air circulation in one’s home.

A great benefit as well as relief of allergic symptoms, would be to have a company routinely clean the carpet in your home. However, since allergens are not only found in the carpeting of the home, it would be best to find a company that can clean your upholstery, air ducts, and provide carpet cleaning at the same time.

Let’s dig a little deeper on the subject. You ask, “How do the contaminants get into my home?” Well…., everyone tracks these unwanted contaminants indoors. Kids and pets greatly increase the volume of incoming pollutants. However, they are not the only ones (Hint, Hint… Mom & Dad). Adults are also considered the perpetrator in this crime. If that wasn’t bad enough. These contaminants get brought into the home on clothing, hair, and the bottom of shoes. Ewwwwww!!

The contaminants which are invisible to the eye are germs, mold, and odors that result from living, creating a harmful and contaminated environment. Our society basically lives in their vehicles, from home to work, and then from work to home again. Most people also spend a lot of time in their cars too. Whether the make or model of your vehicle, its interior is subjected to regular wear and tear. Your car’s interior carpeting and upholstery holds on to dust, dirt, food particles, mud, and tar, and etc. – all which break down your vehicle’s fibers – and these, are just the things you can see! The car needs to be cleaned regularly too. This is the second environment next to the home, where indoor air quality suffers along with the inhabitants.

Along with keeping your soft/hard surfaces clean of dust and debris, it would be wise to eat healthy too. Consuming plenty of fruits and vegetables is a good choice when fighting against allergies. The less you consume dairy and fats during this season the better you will feel.

Everyone hop on the road to Good Health!
